I have good reason to believe that the member was not telling the truth, trolling this website and spoofing the IP address of a design company. (And people say

sad!) In line with the rules, they have been banned.
In the meantime, I'd suggest members ignore all what s/he said.
All I can say about the relaunch is that what people know already. From what I believe most of the rebrand is being done in-house and is being kept tightly under wraps - obviously to prevent the competition seeing what BBC News is doing. This also applies internally to prevent any leaks.
There is going to be some changes which will bring in a more newsroom feel to the studio.
Right now the set is so sterile and lifeless they might as well do the news out of a backroom in a warehouse (or some equally inappropriate place...not unlike John Cleese reading the news from the back of a lorry on Monty Python's Flying Circus).
Now, how does that work -- surely design companies use similar internet connections as our home connections, thus surely their IP would be related to BT Broadband or whatever ISP they choose?

All in all an exciting couple of days on the Forum...

That is all for now
Can you give us an idea of launch date snarfu? Will it be 24th November as expected, or has that slipped, or are they still unsure?

Well I would have said that a newsroom feel would be a good thing, but having watched a lot of News 24's output from Westminster tonight (where the set is basically in the middle of the newsroom), I've found it to be rather distracting, and that it has been difficult to concentrate on what the presenters/guests are saying, as you're constantly being distracted by people walking right behind the set. Has anyone else felt this? I've never felt like this when watching BBC World News, when they too are in the middle of a newsroom, but I think this is due to the fact that they zoom so far in on the presenters that it more or less blurrs the background, so you don't notice people walking around as much, yet it still gives a feeling of 'urgency'. News 24 were treating Westminster like they do N8, and so the background was more or less in focus.
Reading the above 2 posts - i can just imagine the outcry if news 24 moved into a busy newsroom with lots of people walking about in the background, with a permanent scrolling ticker and the same astons as now
