It would be interesting to know what the viewing figures are, one thing is for sure, it won't have increased!
Anyway only 41/2 weeks to go!

Are there any viewing figures available for News 24 since CSO began? Have they fallen?
I must admit I've stopped watching as it's such a limited service they're offering at the moment, the CSO looks sh*t - and Liz Pike (I think that's her name, standing in for Jane Hill) is absolutely awful.

One thing I hope doesn't happen with the relaunch is that the new music package follows with the current quarter past vamp (the one which peeps a lot!). I can't stand that one. I remember when they used to have loads of different beds - especially that great overnight one that had a load of beeps at the start - now they're using a vamp overnight that's so quiet it can hardly be heard, and that new quarter past vamp is used for everything but the TOTH nowadays.

It's good to see News 24 coping very well from there CSO set. It's about another month until we see the new studio. I know that the area in Stage 6 has been boarded up, but has anyone managed to have a sneaky peak, seen any parts of the studio arrive or seen things such as the opening titles etc.

I have already posted these mocks in the mock design forum, but I thought that I'd put them in here as well, as they are relivant to the topic.
I've had a go at designing a new set for BBC News 24, which is based loosely on the national news set, but allows for more movement of presenters, with different places for them to sit and stand. You'll have to excuse the newsroom backdrop, which doesn't look as good as it could, but I couldn't find a suitable image.
We'll start with a wide shot of the studio.

Each bullitin will start with the presenters sitting at the main news desk with the main news stories.

Because News 24 is meant to become more analytical, after the headlines, one presenter will then move over to this area of the studio, where they will analyse the main stories. There is a small 'South Today' style desk where the presenter will stand against. The small screens on the glass will be used to illustrate stories.

Interviews with studio guests will now be held on a bench along one side of the studio, where there is also a big screen which will be used for interviewing people who are not in the studio, and also for illustrating stories. The small screens will display the News 24 logo at all times.

I'm sure it will get quite mad within the next 4 weeks- it can't be that long until someone in TVC catches a glance of the new studio or sees the plans.
Agreed. It's only going to speculation and wishes talked about over the next month. However it will take off no doubt when the re-launch happens.

I think that on the day of the relaunch, maybe a new thread should be started, as by that time, this one will be huge going by the rate of posts, and a new one would undoubtedly by huge in a short space of time!
