Also, do the stings in the multiscreen feeds offer any clues?

I hate to sound sceptical, but I think people should take "24 rat's" (with his/her 7 posts) with a little pinch of salt....slightly too keen to divulge information if you ask me.

I'd be almost inclined to agree with you, but then, does it really matter? In six weeks time we'll see the new studio and then all questions will be answered. This relaunch has certainly been long overdue so I'd expect to see as well as the new studio, new titles, new music and just about everything would probably change, except maybe the DOG, and it will still loosely be based on the corporate look.

I'm not really bothered if the temporary CSO looks a mess (I actually think it's not too bad but I'm only viewing it on a 14" TV) because the new look will (hopefully!) blow it away.

Hopefully the new look will be spectacular! I really wish it is after such a long wait. Is it relaunching in November???

Might do for the music, but I don't think they are imaginative enough to be proper titles.

EDIT: Joy - Someone said November 24th, almost sure to be a monday anyway.

I'd agree with you there, the CSO looks ok unless you look for problems with it, and most people don't really notice the studio; they're more interested in the news. I asked my dad what he thought of the studio when News 24 was in the World studio at the weekend, and he hadn't noticed it wasn't the usual one. Besides, does it really matter, it's only temporary for a few weeks. From what I've been told, however, the new look is going to be fab Very Happy

I don't believe a thing 24 rat says!

I imagine the new news 24 set will be fantastic, and that it will come with a special area for Breakfast to be presented from - this (as I said in an earlier post) is long overdue.

I agree. Depending on the new studio layout, if a second set or studio area has a desk like the previous incarnation, then an idea could be to have the desk easily removeable and a sofa and coffee table put in for Weekend 24 and Breakfast on a Sunday.

Yeah, it just strikes me as such an important part of News 24's output (I know Breakfast on Sunday on BBC1 is watched by many people) that it should have a proper space in the studio output. If Bill & Sian are not properly catered for I'm sure they will move to another channel.

I can tell you that:

The new set WILL be worth the wait.
It WILL be radically different to the current set.
The backdrop WILL be real, with real people,as they were.

This, along with huge a/c work, is why it's taking time.

Will there be new opening titles/music though?

There WILL be new titles and sings.
The graphcs will be generated by a totally new device.

I hope I'm not pushing it but does that mean there will be new astons and graphics too?

Yes

Doesnt all this sound too good to be true?

I saw it last night of the very first time... I must say the CSO set is quite convincing, execpt that the same bloke keeps walking around accross the monitor bank at the back of the newsroom.

During the news paper review there was only slight fuzzyness around the presenters. I'm quite sure they could get away with a CSO set full time... so why don't they?

It looks loads better than Anglia west (this is a fine example of how NOT to do a CSO set)

Will this be a real window on the news centre or a projected backdrop?

It will be real - the new set will still be in the middle of the newsroom.

Call me stupid, but since when has the News 24 set been in the middle of the newsroom?
