I dont know. Im just blatantly confused now. I think Sian said they would be using it next weekend as well.
So did Sian actually mention the change of set on Breakfast this morning?

Well, World is back to their normal studio this morning - with David & Sally. Unless the CSO is unbelievably good

I heard Sian say that they would be out of their usual home for 2 weeks, not 6. She said this on Weekend 24(Saturday).

LOL - totally the opposite of the 1999 relaunch then! Surely it would b best to do it all at once - and get the whole thing up and running ready for the airing?

I had spoken to a friend in the Beeb re: graphics. He said that the new graphics didn't come with the new National Studio back in January so the re-vamp wouldn't completely shock viewers. Whether N24 will follow the same system I'm not sure.

Completely agree, Re-it-er-ate. I think dragging it out over almost a year makes the whole thing look pretty shambolic. I'm sure the majority of those mature enough to watch BBC News could quite happily cope with a fresh new look all in one hit.
It's my hope that News 24 will do everything in one strike, and that the new graphics for BBC One news wil launch in-sync with this. But that's only my hope!

It's not true to say everything happened at once - nationals, regions, then News 24, then World changed from the old look to the current one. Now that there's the one BBC News brand (unlike before) it would be a massive job to change everything at once - the effort needed to do that would be huge. Evolution rather than revolution has worked well at say Radio 2. Why not with News?

Its not a major problem, stretching out these changes, but it should be balanced. BBC One News Titles or Music have not changed since 1999 - thats 4 years, yet there has been 3 studios, 3-4 sets of graphics in that same time.
News 24 has been tinckering with their graphics and set so often since 2000. But the main style of the channel has not changed, which is where I believe it's problems lie...
BBC World since 2000 - has had 2 sets of music, a few graphical tweaks, and 1 major studio refresh.
All of the BBC News titles (except regionals) have remained untouched for the main news services, and the music has remained relativly untouched also... Its the titles and music which setup the feel of the programme, so these changes have not had as much of an impact as they could have, and I am sometimes unsure as to why these changes are made, for they add nothing to the show.
If you wish to re-fresh a programme, it is better to make many changes - presenting style, graphics, set, music - to achieve a certain effect, rather than make changes for the sake of it and let it pass by unnoticed to an extent.
Then Again this is only my opinion... ...
