Slightly pointless, but . . . FYI . . . as of this post, this thread has now overtaken the monolithic Wales Thread . . .

Nope - all pages in the 800px wide format will be changing, anything before that won't.
examples: (see if you can spot which of these stories is not like the others)

Hmm I noticed that whilst I was surfing BBC News yesterday, they really need to do something about it, or put it into a stylesheet format that can easily be updated. Using external stylesheets can save a lot of time as just by changing one file can update thousands of other pages.

The New BBC News online banner is georgeous...

It is a much needed improvement. The globe is fresher, as is the shapes behind it.

Ive just been wondering if anyone could confirm/denine the "info" weve so far had on the relaunch of N24
Arrow N24 is to have a new set, with areas for certain events i.e. breaking news-video wall.
Arrow the programme is to have new graphics/music
Arrow focus will be on breaking news
Arrow the programme is to have new astons, dog and clock
Arrow the music is composed by David Lowe
Arrow The titles shall include pictures from the days events, like the titles used on Channel 4 News at 7
if anyone could confirm.denine these I would thankful. Very Happy

Any chance some clips might be made available for those of us in North America (and without good cable)?

As soon as I've seen enough to think they've shown everything (countdown... titles... graphics...) I'll be converting the huge MPEG to Real Player format (Sorry Adam I don't have anything to encode to .wma) and it should be uploaded by around 9:20.

This'll be the News 24 look, not World - but BBC World News is on News 24 at 9:30 so we should see their new studio by then. Wink

I was told that no structural changes to N9 were taking place - only the graphics updated.

It's only 12 minutes before you get the answers to all but one of those questions. Can you really not wait?

So 10 minutes to go until the end of this thread. I must admit I was amazed by how popular it has been. It has indeed been the most popular thread with the most views and replies I've ever seen.

No doubt the Wales Thread will deservedly reclaim this title by the end of the day, but here's to this thread, and DSAT channel 507 at 9am!

I got the impression that the desk was being changed or modified. IF nothing's being changed then there wouldn't be much point in moving out for seven whole hours... but if it were structural I would expect it to be days. I'm guessing they've just moved a few things around and maybe changed the desk. We'll see anyway...

But the real question is... ...who will be the first to post in the thread that opens just before 9am, and who will be the last to post here?

It's a race I won't win.

I'm in the race to be the first to upload video.

Someone else can get still images as mine aren't usually of decent enough quality.
