hmm - I wish they would do a nice wide shot - mind it is World and they do love zooming in too far.

*goes off to dance to the World countdown*

I have to agree with one thing though, and it's that BBC News 24's team make better use of the camera shots then BBC World do, nice and wider shots then usual.

Yes, but then again they have to don't they - its going out in Widescreen instead of just 14:9 or whatever it is normally on World!

Yep it's 14:9 format for World News and anything else out of the newsroom, and 4:3 for the rest! Smile

Where will the Sunday BBC1 10pm bulletin be broadcast from because BBC World has news then aswell, both in the same studio?

As I said earlier, 12pm is a joint bulletin for both N24 and World, and will come from BBC World's normal studio, leaving N6 for BBC One. World are only using BBC One's studio for their summaries.

Don't assume Sunday will be the same as Saturday - esp when it comes to World bulletins Wink Laughing

Would it not make more sense for News 24 to use the National News studio?

Considering that the new News 24 set and the newish National News sets are to share at least broad design similarities, would a transition there not look slightly better? Or are they trying to shock us by doing sod all with the channel for years and suddenly taking an interest in it?

Well I suppose they could use the national news one - but it would look a bit silly bearing in mind that most News 24 viewers will have also seen the BBC One Newsroom. At least World's looks more "rolling" and viewers will have seen that anyway in the past on TWT, and at 9.30. And BBC One would need the newsroom at some points, so there would have to be some form of shared bulletin from BBC World anyway.

The last statement there c@t, is probably the truest bloody phrase ever said in this thread Wink

I thought some of the 2-presenter shots on Weekend 24 this morning were too wide - Bill and Sian looked so distant both from each other and from the camera.

Christ, yes! Has anyone got any video captures of the lunchtime bulletin?

Yes, the BBC World set just isn't designed for a co-presented bulletin. It looks fine when just throwing to the business or sport on BBC World, but when you have a programme like Weekend 24, it looks awful. I think someone e-mailed in this morning saying the BBC World newsroom looked like something from Star Trek!

Well the BBC World newsroom isn't perfect for the purposes of News 24, it works well with World, but it will never look right with BBC News 24, because they have two presenters plus things like looking at the papers etc, therefore the BBC World newsroom setup is inadequate really.

BTW This Week on BBC World has gone out 16:9 letterbox rather then it's usual 14:9 Smile
