It looked like the new countdown - same music but numbers at bottom left hand corner in a new thicker font. No menu showing what was next though...

Well we haven't seen a menu since October, so that's nothing different!

Anyone got a video?

Their was a provision for a menu though, and a better one than on the last countdowns - at somewhere less than 10 seconds, the black transparent strip at the bottom moves over and shrinks to be only the background of the numbers at the bottom left of the screen (for the rest of the countdown it was right across the bottom of the screen, acting as a diffuse so you can see the menu text easier).

BBC World seems to be a bit too busy right now to worry about spelling:

Well there I was lying in bed ready to sleep, then I turn to look at the PC (with WinTV on) and noticed a new countdown...

World Today are doing the UK updates from the same studio, so no early look at either the N24 or World studios

Whenever I've tried to look at bbcworld.com over the last week it's not been there... and it still isn't.

In the new countdown, the shots at 7 seconds of the kids running into the pool are from the titles of South Today. Has anyone spotted any other images from the regional titles?

I demand to see a Welsh dragon in there somewhere....or at least a sheep being buggered!

I think its been said the new countdown music has no pips in it, and that there are 4 versions of the countdown available. I also think that the font used for the numbers is an indication that News 24 has finally ditched Gill Sans...

23 seconds (where it just faded in), is the Humber Bridge but I don't think it's the same shot as in the opening titles of Look North.
