Back on topic...

At the start of the 3:30 summary, Debs said there'd be a special edition of Asia Today coming up... but after a rather long summary Reporters started at 3:41, so I guess it will end early (there was also a problem with a report during the summary which would have taken some time). Just before the headlines recap there was a bit of a pause so I wonder if World took that summary also and that was the opt-out point?

Indeed - an good improvement on the last countdown, especially as it was less London based to an extent, and also focused on the BBC.

Also, they obviously didn`t want the new countdown mix music to go out yet, as the old one was played out, and was out of sync with the visuals.

If it's out of sync, that might imply that the one-second-spaced pips could not be making an appearance ...
