So the theory goes that if you project this image of the presumed new globe images:

onto a holoscreen the country will appear to float in space in a pseudo-3D way? Kind of cool if it happens really.

The black sea background also has the benefit of blending in with pillar/letterboxes depending on your output ratios.

I still believe BBC News 24 is a complete waste of money
and the whole project should be binned asap.

I have no interest anymore in watching it and if even more
money is being wasted on new sets, graphics and
relaunches I demand some of my licenese fee back!

Thank God we got SKy news

Just a thought - since the new channel DOGs for both World and N24 are going to be in the bottom left hand corner, will this not cover some of the current World Dynamic Junction (that's breakfiller to you and me)? Will the DOG be removed during the breaks or will there be a slight modification to it?

Unlike most of the schizophrenic wasters on here, Moz, I am able to express my opinions through just one username.

And whether you were making your comments in jest or not, I think it rather sad that contributors here are unable to have views going against the consensus without having fun poked at them.

Since BBC World has commercial adverts, I'm guessing they'd have to remove such a big DOG during the break.

Thing is - they know that they have to fade the clock out as it is for breaks as it covers the BBC One logo. Surely adding more in that corner (aka tge Dog) is going to cover it all up more and make no sense.

Plus what about breakfast? The Dog in the corner would cover up all the live graphic etc.

Seems rather stupid putting it there but no doubt with BBC News logic it will be there tomorrow morning!

I wonder if they won't have a permanent DOG - maybe it will only be present when the astons fade up, like on the BBC1 news. Only an idea, so don't take it as gospel!

Well the new equipment apparently fades the clock, and probably also the DOG up and down as appropriate automatically, so trails won't be a problem. Breakfast may also have a change of graphics to match News 24, or News 24 might generate different graphics to the version of Breakfast shown on BBC One?

The impression I got from previosu comments was that the DOG/Clock was actually incoperated and produced with the other graphics, and not simplye slapped on over channel output at the end. That way it wouldn't appear over the trailers and other programmes (presumably this includes Breakfast).

Personally I think that Breakfast's news bulliten bit is a sign of how the new look N24 will be. I notice that during thoses bulliens the BBC News DOG appears on the bottom left (I think) and it would make sense not to alter it, although if there are going to be any changes they are likely ro come into affect as of Monday morn.

Although all of the new astons we've seen so far (Australia DIrect etc.) have left a larger gap at the bottom of the screen - presumably for a ticker.
