BBC Four News had come from N6 in the past, when there were problems with N9

Where does BBC FOUR news come from now - the current set doesn't look anything like any of the others? (or am *I* being Blonde now ?)

If you watch the BBC One Late Evening News from yesterday (Link) you can see that the background behind the presenter is a different one at the beginning of the bulletin than at the end of the bulletin.

Glad someone else spotted this. I thought I was going mad. Presumably the background seen at the beginning was the one BBC World were using.

BTW, amusing to see Sian Williams confused that the clock had disappeared today. Bless her, she was looking all over the studio to find one. Bill had to help her out in the end. Surprised that the presenters use the on-screen clock to tell the time.

Not sure if your right or not here. It could just be the angle of the shot that makes it look different but there does seem to be no Red Walls at the beginning but red walls at the end to the right.

Edit: Both of these are the national backdrops. Just it seems Rods fairies or pixies have been out stealing again. Rolling Eyes

Personally I wouldn't be suprised if it has been deliberatly 'leaked out' from the BBC management. As we know they regularly visit this forum, and have been impressed by the quality of conversation.

Either way it has helped stir up further interest, and it bound to help boost the BBC's rating figures for the relaunch of News 24.

However it wouldn't suprise me if this 'leak' wasn't just one big hoax designed to throw us all off-track.

Still we will all know the truth on Monday.

BBC Four uses it's own set built into the corner of the World Newsroom

BBC Four's studio is in N9 (BBC World's newsroom) - it's opposite the main news set, and just to the right of the Sport Today set.

If these are real mocks for the new look (the information supplied with the files say that they were saved/done using Photoshop 7 at 06/12/2003 at 23:41:01) then all I can say is that I can't stand it.

They have done an "ITV News" by placing their box DOG and cock in the left hand corner. I know this it's now the hip thing for the BBC to stick their logos in boxes - but I hope that this box fever doesn't spread to the other BBC channels. Personally I'd rather see a one-liner in the top left hand corner or no DOG at all rather than this opaque box that seems to be in the "internal" mocks, obscuring part of the picture.

I am not a fan of tickers either especially if they are multi coloured as in the supposed "internal" mock. The roobarb and custard look last time wasn't too bad, promarily because most of their graphics did not use colours that would usually be seen on auction channel bidup.tv, nor were they made of colours that would clash. Orange, blue, white, black and red - ouch!

I think these mocks can't be real because as we all know the new News 24 logo will be black and orange but in these mocks the News 24 Logo is red and white (like the old one).

Thanks Marcus, but does anyone have wide shots of N9 which include the BBC FOUR NEWS set like I have seen before of the "old" N24 set (with the weather screen and alternative/opposite desk.

It's interesting that when I read through the rest of the thread from last night, someone said the BBC FOUR NEWS set is actually small, compared to how it looks on screen, so it would be great to see how they actually achieve this.

Can't wait until tomorrow, but I have to be at work b4 9am, so I will tape N24, but I have no video capture facility on my PC, so I would be really Very Happy grateful if someone puts a clip on TV Home by tomorrow afternoon! (many others no doubt will be grateful too!)

I would appreciate that, as I have to be in college by 9am on Monday.

I have seen this before and it was like that for about 3 days. It's not the backdrop that World was using, but an extra open space curly shaped thing.
