It does seem an odd choice to shoot from that last angle. It just makes the World newsroom (and the non-existent national one) look entirely fake, rather than just a little bit.

Bloody awful.

Does it really matter? You can see from the caps that on all the background screens the image is exactly the same.

'Normal' viewers don't tend to even notice the studio, they're hardly going to notice (or care) if the background is fake.
well judging by these caps i reckon the national newsroom suits bbc world to the ground!!! especially the titles on the large screen. i would love to see what bbc four news looks like from this studio

BBC Four News had come from N6 in the past, when there were problems with N9, but is was when the old set was in there. I've found images I upload on here on the night that it happened, in my webspace! Shows how often I clear it out! Anyway, here they are:

http://www.btinternet.com/~robc86/Images/BBC4_George_Alagiah_N6_2.jpg

http://www.btinternet.com/~robc86/Images/BBC4_George_Alagiah_N6_3.jpg

http://www.btinternet.com/~robc86/Images/BBC4_George_Alagiah_N6_5.jpg

http://www.btinternet.com/~robc86/Images/BBC4_George_Alagiah_N6_10.jpg

It looks quite good there, so with the current projection stuff in N6, I imagine it would look very good.

How many current BBC News programes have orange and balck together in there titles. BBC 4 News , Hard Talk, BBC World filler (parts) and there is many more like Asia Today etc. It's the start of a whole new era for BBC News except with out it all happening at once so it isn't that noticable to viewers.

Plus Reporters, This Week (well, blue and black, but it follows the same format), and the Iraq war titles.

This is a whole new start for the BBC News family. By March next year the current look will be gone and would have been replaced by orange and black. The Crimson red will be more bight and there will be more white than cream.
all thats needed now is the nations and regions to update thier look (at least the studios) with the exception of Look East, Midlands Today is halfway there!!, LDN just needs small changes (why revamp a winning format?) and South Today with there fantastic Cafe style newsroom!

Nobody has to beleive me but with a dog change as well. Come on guys! You dont have to work at the BBC to realise that the whole BBC News format is changing, new titles,dogs,sets,re-mixed music, new colour scheme.

No, those captures above were from April 2002 - World were experiencing problems with their studio, and I believe the BBC Four News was repeated at 2100 as well on that occasion IIRC. I think MikeG used them on his WorldWatch site, and explained a bit more. I'll have to see if I can remember the URL.

do you belive me yet Confused: I will spell it out for people who dont...
BBC News is changeing completly. The titles will noe be orange , black instead of the cream and orange, The crimson red in the sets will eventuly be change to a much brighter red like the colour of the wall where the plasma screens are in N6.

When NewsNight had to use N6 they just kept the then usual newsroom backdrop. The desk had black covers on though.
