So surely tonight is now going to plan which means hopefully by tomorrow morning they have full power which means they will be back to where they were when the power 1st failed.. ie. last Friday morning.. so in theory enough time to relaunch on Monday as we are back to square one?

i suspect there will be more problems, to have two power faults, something major has to be wrong with the system,
What a total f*ck-up eh? And I thought they had lots of safety nets to fall back on if something went wrong?
Maybe they're re-thinking the graphics while they're at it. They've probably been spying on us, realising most of us dont like the black logo and tupperware set.
It is very bad but I'm sure they're doing their very best to sort it all out. I'm sure there are many people having to work in almost impossible conditions. If they have to delay the relaunch then so be it, but a relaunch that is supposed to mean so much in technical improvements and state-of-the-art enhancements isn't really living up to that almost a week after the original relaunch.

top marks to the team, i agree. a world class broadcasting company shouldnt being having these problems. BBC NEWS i am affraid to say is looking a bit sahbby at the moment!!. lets hope the teams are getting the praise they need right now!! hopefully the relaunch, when it happens will, justify my faith in the beeb
Well the BBC have written an article on BBC News Online about the relaunch being last Monday (as we all know) but they havent corrected it or announced any delay... I suppose to those who only read the article there (not been on any forums) it appears strange that a relaunch was announced, didnt happen and nobody explained it! I suppose the BBC have no idea when this relaunch will be?

Unless this is all either part of a power restoration plan, or tests of the fallbacks in the system...
High current, 3-phase power is complicated stuff to UPS and generator backup, in particular when you are interfacing to external transmission systems...
