just managed to catch Alistair Yates on BBCW. The newsroom has gone dark again. I watched the 12 am GMT bulletin with Mishal and at that time, the newsroom looked fine.

Most of the monitors are usually switched off overnight anyway, so maybe thats what you saw?

So there will be a relaunch at some stage in the future then? Wink

Any news on whether relaunch has been delayed another week or if they're OK to go on Monday?

They seemed to cope better last night (no running down to Millbank) so may have been expecting it as power was brought back to full.

So is power all back to normal now?

If so they should be able to do their pilots this weekend (if not sooner) and be OK for Monday. May even be a smoother hand-over than originally planned!

Power still not restored fully - Pilots are happening today, tomorrow and sunday. Full power hopefully being restored tonight. So expect more joint World/24 services from 2300 tonight.

As could be seen some of the captures, the monitors in the red columns were switched off - and these are rarely off, even overnight.
(They're back on this morning, though)

09.13 and Phillip Hayton has already had to apologise twice for problems with video footage because of "continuing major power problems".

forcing The Ten O'Clock News to be broadcast from a poorly lit emergency studio

I didn't think this is necessarially a fair description of the N24 studio thats been used for the past couple of months

Nice typo in the article. Do these people not have sub-editors?

Media Guardian appear to be laying into the BBC about this a bit too much, surely this is still a continuation of the power cut problems from last week... not another completely seperate incident as it appears to suggest.

Apparently the 'ten' last night was very dimly lit, I thought it was too bright.. it was the CSO made it look more strange rather than the lighting.

Media Guradian has been a bit vague about facts this week! Has anyone there been watching News24 or BBC1 throughout all this since last Friday morning??
