The audio on the countdown on BBC News 24 was faded out with 9 seconds left to go and cut directly to the studio.

DId somebody forget to fast forward the countdown 9 seconds before cueing it up?

I wonder if all this is a sneaky ploy to attract more attention to BBC News 24 prior to the relaunch?

So will someone be able to tell us what went wrong this time and if the full power is being restored tonight afterall? I understand some new equipment was brought in and was meant to be in operation tonight.. is this still happening?

What an absolute pleasure to see News 24 with no DOG. Very reminiscent of when I used to watch it overnight on BBC1 in the pre-digital days.

I hope on the revamp they will remember that less is more.

This is all rather invigorating...

Face it - this is a helluva lot more interesting than the relaunch will ever manage to be (unless the floor caves in or something which would probably be moderately amusing).

LOL!!

I'm pretty amused...but I like the fact that the 10 went out on schedule and as normal as possible.

I also like how World kept up.

It's a pretty good job this time...but you'd hope they'd manage to fix their power problems...it's only the 21st century.

What's the programme being shown right now?

No idea as to what it is about, as it has no sound. It's something about Africa though.

So... what was the 'surprise' that was supposed to happen at 11pm?

AFAIK it was that Mishal would be on News 24 as well as World - weren't they going to start switching back to normal power at 2300?

Worth staying awake for?
