and Huw did hand over directly to the regions

News 24 should just stick with BBC World's set. BBC World move to the CSO set, with the National News finished for the day.

News 24's re-launch seems to be doomed at the moment. Laughing

I don't know what other regions did, but here in the North East we opted out to the Look North newsroom for the headlines for a few seconds (about half a headline!) and then opted back in to the rest of the titles. I don't think anyone told them that all was not well, and they were cutting the regional bit.

They were told quite a while ago.

Anyone know why? If the regions are able to show the regional news why couldn't the regional ident and headlines go ahead?

I think News 24 is gonna be back to "normal" now then... they're playing News 24 trails

edit: maybe not. We're back with Mishal in the World newsroom, but she did intro it as BBC News 24, a la overnights.
Scheduled on World is Australia Direct - so this makes sense.

Most of the computer/television gear in the World studio seems to be switched off...

Also, note the lack of a DOG and clock.

The monitors and lighting are back in town in BBC World land now.

I guess it's the talkback (director telling them when to opt in and out) was screwed from the news studio so the news director couldn't call the in and out points. At the end of the programme the network director would/could have been in charge, counting the national news out and cueing the regions.

Mishal seems to be on News24 only now

Oh wait, News 24 are showing Australia Direct also.

Newsnight seemed to have started normally, in its usual studio.

World have gone off into their own Australia Direct, while News 24 had a summary with Mishal, before going into Australia Direct too.

Is Australia Direct being simulcast or did it start on BBC World before starting on News 24?
