BBC World presentation isn't doing to well at this hour. The top of the hour just went totally wrong with the wrong footage playing for the headline and then carried on playing for the rest of the headlines, before the headline aston disappeared then came back then went, then all pictures went an Mike just read the headlines, puased for the titles to start, they didnt start at all - so he almost expected to just start reading the news before the titles played.

Are the World headlines footage all rendered live? I thought the footage would be cut and pasted together then played all out together. Why on earth the titles failed I dont know!

They do practice their headlines, so probably it was one of Columbus oopsies, or the director pressing the wrong button.

BTW funny picture, LOL

IIRC, they queue all of the footage up, with the astons etc in their systems, and then the director cues them, or something to that effect. The titles are played from servers, and these do occasionally jam, I've been told. I'm sure one of the TD's who visits here can give all the technical jargon to go with it!

The technical phrase that I would use to describe the incidence is "total f*ck up".

Well it's a phrase that I often refer to as a technical term.

Are we still scheduled for Monday 8th December, or is the relaunch now back to it's original date of tomorow, december 1st?

Have you been reading this thread. Parts of TV Centre are still on low power, which means no pilots have been done since Friday, if at all.

It's not physically possible to wholly read this thread anymore, in fact given the one week extension of its life, it may well even overtake the Wales thread!

Rachel Attwell's just been on LBC 97.3's media programme with Matt Wells.

Sadly it was very obviously recorded on Thursday or earlier, as it refers to the relaunch as tomorrow...

The headlines aren't "rendered" at all - they are simply separate clips played from different server ports, cut to the beat of the music (as is also the case with the One, Six and Ten O'Clock News). Nothing rendered or recorded at all.
