Remember The World Today is supposed to be a flagship wake up hour of news and business for both channels. I think a grand unveiling then would make sense, before World then News 24 relaunch on their own.

I cant imagine any changes in astons, graphics & set at breakfast - perhaps the titles might change.

The launch will not be before 9am, on either channel

So it will be old presentation between 0500 and 0900, and then immediately to new presentation at 0900? That makes sense for News 24, as their day begins at 9am, but for World it is stupid - the first of the morning shift bulletins (0800) will be old, and then jump to new presentation for the next one at 0900?

hahah yes - Lyse will be in spin!!!

Yes but think about it, it wont matter when World update their graphics etc, it will seem odd at some place in the World. I suppose starting the new look with The World Today seems like a more natural junction though.

I like the way Media Bullet has marked the delay of the News 24 relaunch as an "exclusive" when it was on both the Media Guardian and this website hours before.

As always, nice one boys!!!!

It does make sense because if I rememember correctly BBC 1 and N24 similcast Breakfast, which has recently been redesigned. This allows time for all news production etc to move out of the current studio, set up and make a swift transition, as breakfast uses its own stings (no use of N24 sting).

OMG - Imagine if Lyse moved to Channel 4 News and spun for us. How *FAB* that would be.

She wouldn't be another Samira but she'd be better than Sarah Whatsherface.

Intresting to see from the orignal poll (top of page) that only 2 people actually got the month correct. They should get a prize of some sort.

There should also be a prize for the number of times this has been mentioned!

Lol, those two are probably BBC employees! Interesting though how the poll followed speculation in this thread - initially, it was rumoured for 'autumn', making most people think September. That month came and went, so people started voting October - it was then confirmed that News 24 would move to TC10 - that meant it would probably be sometime in November that it would relaunch. Generally, people were unsure, and somewhere I remember it being said "the New Year", hence the January votes. Once it was said that they were going to be in TC10 for six weeks, it took us to December.

Relaunching with The World Today would be a good idea especially if Breakfast are also adopting a new design for their titles (don't seem to resemble much on their new set) as the new look BBC News would relaunch over all services in one go (as TWT is shown on BBC One). This would also give the option of BBC World's studio being free prior to 0500 GMT if TC10 is used for overnights.

Personally I would say a relaunch at 5am would be the best one if Breakfast are getting new titles however if they're not changing 9am is adequate as there's no delay (until 0600 the next day) to wait for Breakfast's new titles.

Would it be at all possible then that The World Today and European Breakfast on BBC World on 9/12 might be coming from the temporary CSO studio that N24's been using so that the necessary adjustments can be made at BBC World?

Well at the beginning of this whole studio shuffle, the CSO set was used to create a virtual BBC World studio instead of the News 24 one, so it is probable.

Nice research in the Daily Mail today. In their report on the BBC power cut they say BBC Television Center is in Wood Green , North London.
Odd it as it was on Wood LANE in WEST London when i went by this morning where its allways been.....
