I can tell you that weather is going to change. Whether it is when N24 relaunches or a few months after I don't know.

Dunno about N24, but I've heard nothing about it since the project started earlier in the year. I'm pretty sure they'd do everyone at once for a weather update, the same as last time, so I'd bet the answer is no.

No. BBC World will launch at the same time as News24. Now scheduled for 9am Monday 8th december. Part of the reason the relaunch has to happen on a Monday is that it takes time to reprogramme various bits of equipment in the World studio as well as in Presentaion areas around the world. The World studio will be off line for about 4 hours before the relaunch

So if the World studio's going to be offline for a few hours, where does this leave World (and The World Today) from 5am?
Perhaps we'll see the World newsroom CSO'ed back into the virtual set. Or maybe the National studio will get a rare early morning usage?

Well BBC World's day begins at 5am, not 9am like News 24. Therefore, I'd imagine that N9 would be offline from 1-5am - 4 hours, and go straight into The World Today.

I notice that someone has been playing about with the backdrop in the national studio. Watch the news at 5.15pm and you'll see what I mean. There seems to be an extra curvy open space on one of the screens. Maybe they have been trying out a new backdrop.(hopefully, i hate that fake virtual one.)

But wouldn't that mean that the equipment would be set up with the new look, which isn't launching till 9?

Yes it WILL change - but not with the re-launch... weather are still working on stuff... i'm told it may even be new year!

I dont think the weather graphics need a huge change - just a little update & tweak - the current graphics are by far the best on any channel I've seen at any time.

I would change the countdown - make it more UK & global based, not just London and make it corporate by adding some red / white, with some words and rings - thats if what is staying atm. The countdown music does need to change though, it sounds very slow and heavy going at the moment.

I would also increase the live weather and business news. I presume the CSO business updates at the stock exchange aren't live??

So it seems that the first hint we will get of the new look is at 5am on Monday 8 Dec?

Well, I think you might be right. Looks pretty good. If this is a hint of the new look, thank goodness it's off the bottom of the screen and smaller. Much more sophisticated.

As I said, News 24's day starts at 9am, so that's when they'll unveil the new look; World on the other hand, starts at 5am, so I would imagine that's when they'll unveil it. It wouldn't make sense to carry on with the old style until 9am, just so they can do it together.

Although Breakfast will probably have new graphics to fit in with the new look too, won't it? New astons, clock, etc.
