Sounds like at least the graphics on BBC World will be changing, and possibly the titles and stings. Already been said the main set won't be changing (although I wouldn't be surprised if the desk and the walls currently beige are painted over with chrome/white).
News 24 is getting new music (David Lowe says so on www.davidlowemusic.com). No idea on the countdown music, perhaps a re-mixed version to fit in with the wider new News 24 music.

What exactly is set to change with BBC World? also do we know if the Countdown from News 24 is getting new music?

So if the World studio's going to be offline for a few hours, where does this leave World (and The World Today) from 5am?
Perhaps we'll see the World newsroom CSO'ed back into the virtual set. Or maybe the National studio will get a rare early morning usage?

No. BBC World will launch at the same time as News24. Now scheduled for 9am Monday 8th december. Part of the reason the relaunch has to happen on a Monday is that it takes time to reprogramme various bits of equipment in the World studio as well as in Presentaion areas around the world. The World studio will be off line for about 4 hours before the relaunch

This gives us a clue as to whats changing. Obviously this was put together thinking that the relaunch would be on line this weekend. Or not, I dunno really!

I am hoping BBC World gets a see through desk, but it won't with BBC World's current set I guess, aren't the walls white allready, well it looks white on my TV set!

It is a shame this things have to happen just days before the relaunch. But it seems logical they have to change the date of the relaunch. It would be humiliating for the BBC to have technical problems. Anyway, I am looking forward to see the revamp not just on BBC news 24, but also on BBC world.

Yes, I noticed this. HardTalk recently started using an aston design simular to that, where the text is right aligned and comes in from the right, and Straight Talk have started using a simular method today as well, although they still do look like the old coming in from the left ones.
