Isn't is sooo typical that THIS had to happen NOW just before the relaunch... I was really looking foward to it (how sad) on Monday morning and now we'll have to wait ANOTHER week..
Well, you and the others will just have to wait another week before you start criticising it all and calling the new look "crap".
The power cut is sod's law, but it can't be helped. I bet it's been a nightmare for all the poor guys and gals at the BBC, and it's not their fault.
I think you're only saying that because you have to wait another week! I think it's good the BBC aren't rushing this relaunch. A lot of effort has gone in, and it would be shambolic if they rush for a Monday relaunch and things start falling apart on-air.
I totally agree. Far better to have another full week of rehersals to get everything right than for things to go wrong on Monday
The acutal set looks similar to the old one. It still retains the god-awful metre high beige/white wall behind the presenters, it still has a stupid looking desk (the red plastic should be white frosted glass), and the background dosen't look particularly enchanting either.
I dread to see the new titles - BLACK? I hope to goodness they aren't as poor as the cheapo ones we saw for the Iraq War.
The music will probably just be another concoction of the Pips, Bangs and Farts theme which has been done to death since 1999.
Can't someone just design a good, powerful and authorititive news channel? Oh wait...they have...CNN.

No, I have always really liked whatever the Beeb do... imo, they're the best at TV pres in the world... I don't want to see it just to slag it off.
midlands today went out ok at 3.20 - although nick ad-libbed at the end about the "verritable cornucopia of stories on tonight's midlands today" - so i guess the local updates were extended to cover the national headline's time?
