Re the breakfast regional opt outs (or lack of) i guess they were more concerned with actually keeping the programme going as it was without any dodgy or missed links than trying to sort a relatively short opt out

The regional opt-outs have to be shychronized into the network program. This requires the computers that were switched off...

the regions would then have known to opt for the usual length of that particular bulletin?

How would they know this? The whole system is computer controlled. It's not like there are big buttons and levers that get pulled by servo motors... the TV switchers can be manually programmed and operated but not without considerable knowledge.

And this knowledge is usually within the computer systems.

I noticed that Working Lunch was using the Breakfast studio - albeit with Working Lunch boards covering the glass design behind the red sofa...

I notice how that News 24 logo appears to have been tweaked - the "24" appears to be somewhat semi-transparent. See the Guardian article.

Isn't is sooo typical that THIS had to happen NOW just before the relaunch... I was really looking foward to it (how sad) on Monday morning and now we'll have to wait ANOTHER week..

This relaunch has been soo keenly awaited and it has been set back after set back...

Not happy at all... and we've seen so much of the relaunch in the way of the logo and set... which is okay just a few days before but now we have to wait another week, it will be old news...

It always was semi-transparent.. wasn't it?

Re N24 launch delay: For christ sake, get in there and use the set now before somebody burns it down!

It hasn't changed, we've probably got used to looking at the mocks by MoD which don't have such a transparent '24' (but are great though)

So that's why I thought it had changed, it isn't as bad as it could have been.

I think you're only saying that because you have to wait another week! I think it's good the BBC aren't rushing this relaunch. A lot of effort has gone in, and it would be shambolic if they rush for a Monday relaunch and things start falling apart on-air.
