No news update again on BBC One and BBC News 24 is still at Westminster and we had the long titles this time...

Who is presenting News 24 at this time. Is it still Carrie and Darren, or had Darren gone off to prepare for the one??? I can see that World is back to normal.

Sometimes it's always nice to see BBC News improvise things
For one thing, I like the Breakfast studio...
If you ask me, let them do the 1 o'clock news there too Laughing Laughing

Working Lunch is in the Breakfast studio, so the 1 O'clock news cant come from there...

I wonder what NickyS is doing, was he shifted from his BBC Desk earlier?

The Working Lunch presenter loves the breakfast sofa, he keeps stroking it and joking about it!

I take it the BBC's spoll chacker was a casuaty of the failure, as I've always spelt it "bussbar".

Yes, Darren and Carrie are still propping up News 24, while World is back in full swing - it always seems that Stage VI is hit, while World (Stage V) can continue as normal.

"I am told the cause of the problem was an electrical fault - a 'buzz bar' on the Universal Power Supply (UPS) blew, which took out all technical power and also prevented the diesel back-up generators from working."

...er, translation anyone? What's a "buzz bar" when it's at home? Sounds like a place for bees to get legless...

Think this might be a perpetuating mistake - think it is a "bus" bar? This is a thick bit of metal (because it carries loads of current and a thin piece would melt...) that carries power...

They normally remove one set and bring in another everyday, but with the extended breakfast, they obviously did not have time to complete the removal and reconstruction of the WL set, and so a compromise was met...

Breakfast ended at 0930
Working Lunch starts at 1200

That would give them about 3 hours to redress the studio?
Does it really take that long to do the job?

TVC was evacuated twice, plus the powercut would knock out the lights and other equipment needed to remove one set and bring in the other...
