Earlier selecting News Interactive from the "bridge" brought up something that looked like the original version of the BBC Text service, with the multiscreen in the place where the "quaterscreen" (as it was in that version) appeared.
So, does this mean that today there will be three versions of News 24 being produced by the BBC, a temp one from Westmister, a temp one in a CSO studio pretending to be the old studio AND doing the pilots for the new studio?
it is a shame... While SKYnews have their Newsfloor 3D diagrams for coverage of the NI Election, and BBC Parliament have their own coverage in a nice studio.
BBC News 24 are in a Belfast shopping centre with Maxine Mahwiny (spl?) two cameras and a piece of paper with the latest results.
News 24 wont be able to cope with breaking news at the moment, which is a real shame, and will add fuel to SKYnews's towering inferno of coverage etc.
Maxine is now doing a talk and walkabout with two cameramen in a mall in Belfast. Is this the new News 24 style, or a panic measure?
Cos I like it
My ideal for News 24 is somewhat similar to the style they had at launch.
The presenters should be allowed to take on the casual look. Reporters out on location asking people for opinions etc. Open up the phone lines for people to question ministers etc, in the same vein as "Your Call" from SKYnews.
And with breaking news, get the information out quickly and get to the scene fast, but still maintain a comfortable and casual look the the presenters.
News 24 wont be able to cope with breaking news at the moment, which is a real shame, and will add fuel to SKYnews's towering inferno of coverage etc.
Towering inferno? Surely that was TVC this morning
And there was me thinking that it was another one of those "we don't know what it was but it's not a terrorist attack" events? (Like the powder on the New York subway this week)
"I am told the cause of the problem was an electrical fault - a 'buzz bar' on the Universal Power Supply (UPS) blew, which took out all technical power and also prevented the diesel back-up generators from working."
...er, translation anyone? What's a "buzz bar" when it's at home? Sounds like a place for bees to get legless...
