9am GMT - BBC World still recorded (showing an hour long double-head "BBC News" bulletin which I assume was from 5/6h GMT??)
Breakfiller shows correct time so presumably it's just the studio part rather than the transmission chain that is out of action... if this is to do with the refit, it's not exactly the best way to do it. Although people are suggesting it's not, I did wonder when they are installing everything and what we'll see during that
I would imagine that the Beflast feed has been routed through the main BBC network and direct into TVC rather than via SCAR (Spure Central Apparatus Room) which sounds like it has been affected by the power cut. Although TC7 is a news studio, it is in the main block of TVC, so will be able to pick up sources from the main matrix. I should imagine TC7's output has been overplugged direct to the News24 transmission chain (hence the lack of a News24 DOG). Belfast would have been a relatively easy source to get to air via TC7, but an SNG feed would not be too easy, as they are usually handled by SCAR.
If World is still on Recorded bulletins and if the power failure continues, I wouldn't be at all surprised if a team is on the way to Millbank to mount a joint live bulletins service...
It has to be said, though that Bill and Sian and the TC7 team are doing sterling work with very limited resources !
Why are people assuming that the 'refit' of News 24 is to blame. I don't see where people are getting this from?
One comment on a few pages back didn't mean it actually has something to do with it.
It could have a knock on to the relaunch. I gather thay were on a very tight schedule, so anything which disrupts the preperations may cause them to delay it
At the end of the Today programme, Sarah Montague said there wasn't a fire after all. There was some kind of power problem which produced a lot of smoke, and Stage VI had to be evacuated.
Em riight still Bill & Sian haven't mentioned a fire they're still saying power failure and no mention of any fire.(Apart from Sarah earlier which I didn't hear)

That would rule out the no sustain feed theory on why the regional news wasn't possible wouldn't it?
