BBC World is on a recorded bulletin.

Sarah Montague mentioned something about a fire and a major power cut.

Not a good start for the relaunch. I presume this is something to do with the work going on in the new News 24 studio.

How come Radio 4 cut out but Breakfast didn't. Isn't Radio 4 really important - the BBC's most important service?

Currently talking to a correspondent on the phone from Gloucester, seems that the SNG isn't able to get a feed into the studio, no graphics, just Sian and Bill looking at the camera

SNG?

Radio 4 wasn't cut off as such, they were still able to broadcast from Broadcasting House, they merely lost a programme from a remote studio

"Merely" lost the Today programme! Their flagship programme! I bet the people at Today who were against moving to TVC are smiling!

Bill and Sian really are coping marvellously. I never really took much notice of them before, but they've turned into my favourite BBC NEWS presenting team in the space of about five minutes. One of the only teams with any real chemistry.

Yes it is.

Sounds as if the power failure affected stage VI which houses The Today Programme and Radio 5 and stage V which houses World. Breakfast is based in the main part of TVC. Scar which controls all the switching for outside sources is in stage VI which explains why they cant get any OS's

Looks like they've got a feed from the BBC Belfast newsroom to air at the moment

I haven't seen any onscreen graphics at all this morning since I tuned in at about 8.15. Only seen the weather graphics appear but no astons or anything.

Is that just me missing them somehow or is there really no graphics?

Edit: I think Bill hinted at the new look n24 look earlier.

BBC World Sv. is off air just now.. dunno if that's been mentioned.

Only graphics I've seen are the DVE on that link to Belfast, though thinking about it that may have been a pre-record from earlier
