That swimmer has to go - he's ugly. If you are going to have someone semi-naked on TV at least get someone pretty fit to do it like Stephen Cole.

So when will it be relaunched then?

I can never understand this stupid secrecy! As if it makes a difference whether we know details or not - it's not going to stop us watching is it! It'd just stop all the pointless postings of people saying 'I hope it's this day' or 'assuming....it should be....'

If people know stuff, why can't they tell us?

We already have a date for when they aim to (and I say aim as I know sometimes things change - and that's OK) move to temp studios, so obviously someone's 'leaked' that info. Has there been a big inquiry about who leaked it? No, I doubt it - so someone leak when the relaunch is due....please!

Wink But secrecy is fun! Well for people who know (or think they know) anyway, lol.

The date given was on the assumption the work takes two weeks. I can tell you, as has been hinted before by Nicky, that it will take longer than this.

I take it it will be one of those typical Sky News type rebuilds then - ie an almost exact copy of the current set in another studio... well the last temporary Sky News studio was far from an almost exact copy though! We'll see what BBC News24 manage.

I think that BBC News 24 can only begin to shine if they invest in a pres suite, otherwise the gallery crew will never get a break and mistakes will be made. I say there should be a break at the half hour like now, but also a short one at quarter past and quarter to, just for one promo, while the pres suite takes over for a minute or two... its the way forward I say!

What would u put out for that min or two??? Promos? back to back - how dire? To be honest - a pres suite for 24 would be good - but the cost could not be justified - getting BBC Broadcast - or whoever - to play your weather or promos in twice an hour would be daft - heaven knows Broadcast need the contracts! - but having a Director there 24/7 would be a complete waste of time and valuable licence-fee-payers-cash!!! It would only seriously work if, like world, u play back half hour progs (yes i know they record stuff - but they still get 5 -6 mins before the top to rehearse) 3 mins max with weather and promos gives you hardly any time to rehearse a top and reset for successfull transmission....

This Autumn will see changes in the opening titles for the BBC National News, and a whole new look for News 24. So, let the speculation and release of information begin!

Just reminding you RTS what you said!

So may I quote you, "Let the release of information begin!" Wink
