I guess a hint as to wheather sport keeps its own set or uses N8 from now on will be evident this weekend. If sport comes from its usual home all weekend then can we assume they will no longer use it after monday? If they start using the CSO then maybe a new sports set is being built. Who knows? Just out of interest, will News 24 use TC10 this weekend or will they use N9 to give the impression the new set was built over the weekend?

Oh yeah, definately... going up market or what!
I've just noticed... doesn't John have remarkably thin legs
LOL, looking at that photo, is the backdrop real, the backdrop looks like the old backdrop to me but through glass, but best to judge on Monday methinks!

I prefer laptops being used. Great idea having separate wireless keyboards & mice and having base units and porjected screens elsewhere, but the number one rule with things like these is: the more complicated it is, the more likely it is to go wrong!
With just a simple laptop with a bog-standard mouse attached (and aren't they black on the 1/6/10 - matching the red/white/black scheme) you can't go wrong.
As for where sport & business are from, I think the updates and brief bulletins of both should be from main set (they spoke of bringing everything together) and 2nd set for longer editions. I think weather should be on set too.

After all this hype, I sure hope someone goes to the trouble of recording the launch at 9am! My sleeping times are different to the norm but I'm gonna try get up and see how it goes.
By the looks of the image, the lower backing is red and the upper part looks like seperator bits going...

The floor looks like a browny carpet. Some big thick red/white stripes on some walls. Top part of the desk is like the News on One's desk, but the bottom part is red.
The screen is peculiar. I'm almost certain thats not a black background on there... Adjusting the brightness and contrast on that image in Photoshop can change how you look at it. It's taken out the fuzziness and seems more clearer.
What I think is that they will use the people/life video and have the black taken out of the logo. So swirls of red and orange rotate as the video comes to an end.. maybe?
Have only scanned through what people have said so far so if I've come out with the same thing again, sorry!

I think that the dark(ish) red set and black logo fit well with the idea of more serious analysis of the news, but somehow a full-screen graphic for breaking news doesn't sit well with that image...but after I've seen it, I may be convinced. I defintitely think that the colour scheme gives the channel a more 'authoritive' look than both the old set and Sky - to me the colours seem like they're playing to the "Broadsheet" News 24 vs "Tabloid" Sky idea...and I like it. But then I also much prefer laptops to the keyboard/mouse look.

Just to clarify a few things,
There are two sets, but they're now side by side, not opposite each other.
There are big screens at either side of the desk set, and there's a much beefier big screen in the other set. It looks as though all are back projection.
Incidentally, although the new set is in the same area of the newsroom, it's been turned around, so the area at the back is different.
