Yeah I looked at the logo on pg 116, and I thought oh hell, but let's see how it works on screen first, but the set sounds spectular, just hope the end result is as good as it sounds!
I'm liking what I've seeing so far. The design on the plasma behind Jon looks exactly like the BBC Four News look, and we all know how classy that looks.
I love the way that rear projection screen has no border- it's like those framless spectacles. I think the red/white look will dominate judging by the backing of the screen.
Am I to assume that there will be two screens, one on each side of the very flash desk (like the national in other words)?. And are these the promised stand- up presentation areas or is there another screen somewhere for that?
Certainly looks like the days of two-way interviews on tiny plasmas is well and truly over.
I'm liking the way this is going (but will still reserve judgement until monday...!) Set looks very nice in that shot. The black on the plasma doesn't look as bad as I thought it might have, and we can see that the logo we've seen isn't just a still from the titles.
Oh yes, the set is lovely. Do love the projected screen - looks very nice and clean like that.
Newsroom also looks nice...and from the left of that photo is there a little walky thing...which I assume could be the area where presenters can stand up (they said they'd been given a specific area) - standing next to the projector looks like it would be a bit too cramped.
But anyway, all looking very nice and suitably different from the old set.
John Sopel also looks very happy with himself...and looks younger but I guess that's the joys of soft focus. Or maybe because when you saw him in the old News 24 set - you just thought "dated" as soon as you switched on.
