That would've been perfect.. ten years ago. It looks way out of date. I really don't like what I'm seeing, I'm not getting my hopes up for Monday.

How much time have they had to come up with this?! Rolling Eyes

And why am I thinking "Carlsberg"?

I think it'll be safe to say the aston text (etc) will be something along the lines of helvetica/arial... Confused:

Wouldn't it be funny if this was part of the secrecy thing and the logo in Ariel was a decoy with the real one waiting until Monday!

Not really, no.

To be honest, not entirely sure how it'll fit in with the set. Given everything I've heard about it - i.e. that it's like the national, very clean and open and glassy... quite how they managed to come up with a jet black and orange logo does make you wonder.

Also, a bit messy. The best logos - look at CNN, for instance - a very simple and can be used anywhere. Not sure about that one.

Don't forget that in its "this is CNN" moments, there's a large swirly thing behind their logo too - it could be a similar setup here, with the background disappearing for DOGS (god forbid!) or astons.

All round I see it as good, simply because the attitude that's always come across (in my opinion) is a sort of "yeh, stick that in, it'll do" approach by the powers at be at News 24. At least it appears some amount of effort has gone into it this time (I only hope they don't make a stylistic hash - but perhaps that's too optimistic).

Agreed. The set sounds quite 'light' with all the glass and chrome - can't see where black fits in.

Wish they'd have gone for red/black/white.

Remember though that this is probably a still from animating titles and not strictly the logo, which will probably remain the boxed red & white one.

Perhaps the black will be replaced by somthing - e.g. live images, shot of the set...

That image looks better inverted, even though it's blue. I thought to begin with they said china red and white?

This maybe?

That's very good MOD. Could you maybe do a mock-up of the logo posted on the previous page giving us a clearer view?

I'm not overly impressed by the 'supposed' logo, although I do like MOD's logo.

Kinda reminds me of BBC Four News

We'll have to wait and see what they've done with the set.

The image actually looks similar to the titles of the BBC Four News:

They're not exactly the same, obviously, but they use what looks like the same shade of orange on a black background; and the BBC Four News titles are fab. Perhaps they won't be as bad as they look after all, especially if they're different every hour.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't notice your comment before Beaverfever.
