Just thinking, if blind speculation (up until now) has kept this thread bumped up to 112odd pages, that ITV NEWS Changes thread will be setting records by January! Laughing

I'm a bit worried that this apparent attention grabbing sting will be little more than a disturbing flashing thing like the one i've knocked up quickly above.

The globe sounds amazing though.

Oh lets be fair, half of that was me winding people up and getting into a nasty tiff Wink

Well the globe is meant to pop up for breaking news. How, I'm not sure...

I suspect the globe and the breaking news indicator may be connected in some way.

Will this be like the globe ob the BBc World News titles or are we in for something totally new? I assume it will still fit in with the corporate look?

The article says something about live 3d graphics or something. Anyway what I can see is this BBC/Sky flat lookin globe flying onto the screen with the screen filling in red behind it and the words BREAKING NEWS appearing.

The studio itself sounds pretty impressive, but I can't help but feel I'll be a little dissapointed. They're making it out to sound like it's going to be this huge Atrium or something when we all know it's not quite that big!

As for the BREAKING NEWS mock, I think even the BBC would be aware that those epileptic viewers out there wouldn't be too pleased at it Wink

This is the new look News 24 branding – dramatic, swirling reds and oranges against a stark black background – and created in-house by a news resources design team led by Paula Thompson.

For the first time, titles and 3-D graphics will be rendered live, with a fresh headline circling the globe every hour, the globe tilted to show the part of the world where the big story’s happening. Bigger, bolder text straps will roll out smoothly in the lower screen and for breaking news, the team has devised a graphics sting which will fill the entire screen.

The ‘transparent’ set, designed by Simon Jago, backs onto glass walls, through which the rebuilt newsroom is visible. Decanting the entire News 24 operation to TC10 while they completed the massive technical refit on the second floor of TV Centre was just one hurdle for the news production facilities team under Alan Whiston. The installation includes latest editing and graphics kit.

Dear God... Monday is going to be mad.

Yeah, it's giving me a headache just passing it on the way down. the complaints would be flooding in.

On a different note, I would take up what other forumers are saying about some of the presenters; they need to be either reshuffled or some need to be dispersed around the regions or something. Whoever said Phil Hayton wasn't right for daytime had it spot on. Stick him on weekends, I say.

Don't like the idea of red/orange/black - sounds a bit dark to me. What happened to the red/white/black, or is that just for 1/6/10?

Was there a picture of the logo in Ariel or are people just getting it from the pictureless online version?
