It hacks me off.

Glad to see I've had the desired effect.

Seriously though. A lot of work has gone into this relaunch and it would have a far greater impact if you all saw things for yourself on Monday. I have my own views on the relaunch and wouldn't want to possibly say things with a bias edge. I think I've been quite fair taking snippets from the Ariel article for you to read.

RTS might as well tell us as its not top secret anymore if its in Ariel.

I'd like to remind you that Ariel is for BBC employees and not the general public. Obviously members of the public in TVC will be able to get hold of this, but nothing is public until the BBC runs a promotion campaign (I don't know if they are), and of course the relaunch day itself, Monday.

And I don't think anyone disagrees when I say that speculation and rumour is what the forum thrives on Wink

Emmm but you can subscribe to it even though your not an employee... I'm sure there is a site somewhere about it.... hardly "Not available" to the general public.

Fair enough.

Does anyone know if, other than sets and graphics etc, the scheduling will change at all and preseters too? (ie times of hartalk, busness today etc and presenter shifts).

It is indeed available on subscription to the general public (see the bottom of the page of this link as proof)

If it was being handed out on street corners, I would have posted it. If it was for sale in newsagents, I would have posted it.

Yes anyone can subscribe to it, but I bet you most members of the public don't even know what Ariel is, let alone how to subscribe. Which is why I stand by my comment. I didn't have to post anything, and the fact that I did is not an excuse for others to get stroppy. I'm have growing regret for posting any information for forum members, and growing reluctance to post any more information I may have for you before Monday.

I have no plans to get involved in an arguement, so please lets just respect one-anothers opinions.

Bias edge? Surely the whole point of a forum is to put your opinion across regardless of when and how? If you do or don't like it, good for you but I do possess the ability to make up my own mind when I see it for myself.

I disagree. If a publication is available for me to walk into a building and pick it up without a problem, then it's in the public domain. It's not like it's on their private intranet. I'm sure we appreciate someone taking the time to write out some information of interest but I think "There is a lot more, but that would spoil all the fun." comes across as quite patronising.

Spitting out the dummy won't endear you either. I happen to walk past a BBC building usually so tomorrow I might nip in a see if they have a copy...

Oh come on RTS - you are plainly on a power trip here.

Just post the whole thing, for goodness' sake - or at least the pres-related bits that are likely to be of interest to forumers

This holier-than-thou attitude is most irksome.

I'm not sure about presenter changes. Last I head that wasn't going to change to much. But in regards to business coverage, Julia Caesar from BBC World will join the channel in the afternoons for a "chatty, accessible catch-up". Nick Hingharm will also present the new daily Fact File, "tapping into BBC research and analysis to dig deeper behind a story of the day".[/i]

If you suggest a typical member of the public doesnt know about ariel then I say people on this forum are not typical members of the public when it comes to television presentation.

A typical member of the public will also not know about TV Forum, so what is written on here is almost as much public as that in Ariel.

Surely you know too well how simply raising you opinion can get bogged down in a ten page arguement.

I apologise if you find my tone patronising, but in your previous comment you said how the forum allowed people to give their own opinion on a matter, and that was my opinion.

This is very true, as much as I have tried to accomodate RTS, his views on thinking he is a better forumer than us, and that he knows something that the rest of us don't. Most of the times he's said something its proved to be untrue, you just have to understand that RTS needs some manor to try and control everyone - when he knows sod all truth about the given events.
