Why are BBC News 24 and BBC World getting a different look than the news on BBC1 and 2?
This would be the first time in history that the flagship channels didn't lead the pack in the revamp...or is it intended that there will be a stylistic difference between the rolling news channels and the others?
The "people" titles would fit into the current live action countdowns if they are being retained, so that is a possiblity,
I think the standing up area would likely be a large rear projection screen like the N6 has and TC7 has for Newsnight, and it makes sense, because Sky have the newswall, and ITV NC has the rear projection screen (although it is hardly ever used for standing up like on the ITV1 bulletins). Not even sure if there would be enough space in the News 24 studio space for a newswall!
The breaking news effect (visual animation and/or sound effect) would fit in with better flagging and awareness of breaking news.
News 24 might make very different uses of these compared to Sky, so it is a wait and see thing. But there are bound to be many other changes as well.
Wouldn't they clash a bit, having too many people type things.
I like the current countdown as the movement and pace make the world of news feel fast paced, but I dont like the sound of them using people in the main titles. For local news i dont mind, but for the main nationwide news, it may be a bit iffy.
I like the sound of a standing up set. Its about time News 24 caught up with ITV and Sky news. I cant wait to see how the studio layout is different. Or is it to be the same layout in different surroundings, so a new desk in the same place as the old, with a screen being in place of the second set?
If World gets new graphics but keeps studio, idents graphics. It would look wired.
Yet World plods along as normal, no changed in studio and not so long ago they brought out a new break-filler, still styled on current themes.
Why do that if they are getting new graphics, surely that must mean new titles etc, that are, at a guess going "fried egg" style ? And if they don't change then they will have to remain vaguely similar to the current ones or it will just look odd, but why have a re-vamp and only slightly change things?
Im guessing that the new News 24 studio is fully built by now and being used for rehersals. Still we've waited this long, im sure another 7 days wont hurt.
So will the BBC publicise this relaunch prior to it going live next monday? I'm guessing something could be said on Friday, a few days of advance notice is often the norm.. how many days prior to the relaunch of Breakfast News as 'Breakfast' was it advertised?

Help.
Providing the new News 24 set looks quite simular to the new-ish BBC One set, World would require little change; the BBC World News backdrop already looks like the BBC One backdrop, so the only changes I think would be beige colours painted over with white/chrome, new desk, and that is probably it.

It's been mentioned that some trailers advertising the relaunch may have been produced, so it might get some mention on BBC1/BBC2, unless the trailers are for News 24 only?

A change of graphics only wouldn't clash. Don't forget - all three - BBC One, News 24 and World - have had the same colour schemes since 1999/2000, and have had at least 2 sets of astons/graphics to date. It will be interesting to see what happens overnight on N24/World. If News 24 titles do feature people (which I'm not a big fan of), then what would happen - keep the current joint titles to suit World, or impose the new N24 titles on World viewers? I certainly hope World doesn't go down the people titles road, as that really wouldn't work! How would they feature all the cultures in the world in about 7 seconds?!
Basically from what we have read, this will be the biggest change in BBC News pres since the corporate look was brought in...
All of these changes! OMG, we're going to have so much to talk about! Is it also true that they're going to tweak or even change the BBC One News backdrop?
Roooollllll on next Monday... I hope we're going to be pleased with the outcome, mind you, didn't I also read that they graphics were going to be designed in-house? Does this mean more gritty, slo/fast mo dreadful people shots? The music will be great as its by David Lowe... but why aren't they using Lambie Nairn to create the titles for what effectively is a mini rebrand (the regions were done by LN, so why not the nationals?)
