I noticed how Maxine Mawhinney was presenting the BBC One News again today. Does anyone know who will be the replacements for Sophie and George on the BBC Six O'Clock News when there away or who will be presenting weekend bulletins and if Peter Scissons will still present weekend bulletins?
I don't know, but I reckon he won't do any more weekend bulletins.

Peter Sissons is definately going to News 24. Said he wanted to be more involved in breaking news stories in an interview a few months back. Why he does after the mess up with the Queen Mum's death goodness knows. Perhaps he'll have had some practice before shuffling onto News 24.
Michael Buerk is mostly retiring but you'll see him on the odd program still.
As for the weekend replacement presenters I think Darren Jordan will remain the main one. I only think Maxine is doing it over this holiday period.
So we don't really know then. I would say that Darren, Fiona?, Jane, Matthew? and Maxine will probably do the weekend bulletins. But who will be the replacements for the 6, it could be Jane Hill and Matthew Amroliwala but then they couldn't always do there news 24 show. What do you think?
I certainly think that Sian Williams is a major possibility as Sophies stand in. She is only tied into Breakfast at the weekends and its not a problem when Natasha is off because Jules and Kate are in the wings to stand in for Sian.
I think that Darren Jordon is the most likely stand in for George Alagiah, as he has presented the Six before in Huw and Fionas absence and he is a tried and tested co presenter with Sophie from his appearances on Breakfast
true. So we're agreed then that Darren Jordan and Sian Williams could be Sophie Raworth and George Alagiah's replacements on the 'BBC's Six O'Clock News' but what about for weekends.

I don't know anything official but I would have thought it'll be Darren on at the weekends, with News 24 presenters filling in like Jane, Matthew, Maxine. Also there's no reason why Natasha couldn't fill in for Sophie with Sian filling in behind on breakfast, the same goes for Dermot and George if Darren isn't around.
I presume you've all seen the trailer for the new six o'clock news, "Sophie Rayworth and Darren Jordan take over the six o'clock news from monday (can't remember what date, either 13th or 20th, most likely the 13th) on BBC ONE"
Now that would be good - Seeing Dermot on the 6. I am quite sure his package with the BBC includes shifts on other news programmes. I also hope they give Sian the role as Sophie's second, she is a fantastic presenter.
