I really like the new look news online.

Especially the new e-mail news feature. v. posh

I think that current BBC News is great in how it's almost revolutionary.

Most news networks fit create what is almost a stereotype for news pesentation: the loud brass and fanfare style music. All American networks, ITV, Sky before the current one, BBC before 1999 use this idea - the bombastic fanfares, etc. I'm a musician (dunno if that's my opinion or other people's Smile) and couldn't imagine coming up with a theme like the BBC News one. (Methinks that Sky might have gone for their current modern approach to news music after Auntie set the trend).

This is scary because today I was just thinking that. I love the BBC News Design just now. But I couldn't help imagine what the next will look like?

I for one like the curent BBC News look, but I do wish someone would do something with News 24, it seems to be out of sync with BBC News and BBC World News.

I think the Beeb's current look did prompt Sky to move away from its traditional look - and I do prefer to current Sky music to the BBC News variations.

I'm still a sucker for the full orchestra though, I don't think Sky will ever have the sort of themes they had in 93 and 96 again, which is a shame.

As much as I like the modern sounding approach, Bloomberg especially, it fails to really grab me like some of the old ones.
However, the tribal chanting added to Sky's music is really original and sounds excellent.
They have been using this sort of music since 1999 though, I think the current batch of music is inspired by the Answer The Question theme.
They sound very similar.

I really liked the 93 and especially the 96 themes. Appart from the current look, the 1996 one was the best. Lets hope the new one will be even better in september!!!

If there was to be any change, I think stay with the current look, but with a different set for the national news (eg. a new desk)

I don`t know if this has already been talked about, and while we are kind of on the subject. Does anyone else think the Sky News countdown music sound likes Fankie Goes To Hollywood's, Two Tribes?

I think BBC News will stay as it is forever, with just having a few changes over years. Like maybe a new news set in main studio., a bit of a chnage around or something.
I think it'll stay as it is now though.

When are the news divisions moving back to BH? There would have to be some sort of update when they do move back there. Maybe not a complete new-look, but they'd have to have new sets with maybe updated variations of the current theme (which i too love btw). And I don't think the News 24 theme is really that bad at all. I like it better than World's music, which gets on my nerves…
