I've extracted this bit out of a wide shot of the studio from the newsroom bit, and you can see that the glass is on the other side of the monitors.

I'm not quite sure how you managed to get this shot, as News24 don't have any cameras that side of the set

I think it would be good if they did! Some American networks as far as I know have cameras behind the presenter and zoom in or something before/during/after the bulletins (have I seen CNN do this?) - it would give the feel of something actually happening.

Yeah, but have you ever heard of 'Crossing The Line'? (technical term, not the programme!!)

That's why the BBC is top dog when it comes to training - they know their stuff! Razz:

The BBC used to do this during the Flags era on News 24 - the camera would begin behind the presenters, in the newsroom, and would zoom slowly before revealing the presenters in the front.

I think they stopped this though because, as techy peep said, it's bad camera 'Grammar'

Yes, I suppose it is - but would be good occasionally for a change. Even zooming in on the main shot when we come into the studio would be good!

Trouble is that would make it look too much like ITN - I think they zoom in at the beginning of bulletins, and then zoom out at the end
