BBC News 24 Studio

It would be great to see a panoramic view of the whole studio really - including the side-set bit used for paper reviews, Business Today etc., the chromakey area, what monitors the presenters can see and so on..

Where about are the sports and special studios? Are they a part of the main N24 studio, or are they elsewhere? Anyone?

Isn't the studio they use for interviews, Business Today, Paper review sometimes etc. directly opposite the main studio ?

I thought it was (I have no idea, I've never been there!) but AFAIK all the studios used on N24 are the same room, with the weather chromakey around the corner somewhere. You can tell it's in the studio and not in the Weather Unit, because there is always background sounds, voices and phones

The weather is done in the same studio. Sometimes the weather presenter has a chat to the main presenter at the desk and they show some shots of some part of the country during which time the weather presenter makes there way over to the chromakey area.

Plus the weather bloke/gal sometimes start off at the news desk, and walk to the chromakey whilst webcam shots from the day are displayed to the viewer - you can hear the change in their voices as they stand up and walk with their radio mic, and walk away from the desk mics. If s/he was walking to the Weather Centre they would have quite a way to walk!!

The blue screen for the weather is situated camera right of the main desk, and at the back of the main studio the newspaper review desk is situated.

The camera which shows us that wide shot of the studio just after the opening titles is right above the newspaper review desk.

The only part of the news 24 studio which isnt on the main set is the sports desk. it is situated in the sports room which is on the other side of the newscentre. the two news 24 desks are opposite each other so that the cameras are just turned round. the weather does sometimes come from the weathercentre but are usually recorded and normally its weekday mornings.
