Sadly - I remember the launch of News 24...
Oddly the soft set launched before the news set, because Europe Direct launched from the News 24 soft set on BBC World, a week or two before News 24 launched at all!
The original News 24 soft set was a two seater (orange?) sofa and a three seater (blue?) sofa, with a small monitor on a table in between. There was also a Silicon Graphics workstation on the floor, just out of shot for web browsing (used on the original Entertainment strand, presented by Christopher Price, which predates Zero 30, which eventually became Liquid News on Choice)
During Christmas 1997 a couple of silver christmas trees appeared on the News 24 soft set, very festive they looked too.

I think it's been mentioned that News 24 will not have a christmas tree because BBC World also goes out in that studio aswell. So it wouldn't be appropriate to put up a christmas tree when there are countries which do not celebrate christmas.

But BBC World only uses BBC Crap 24's studio for four hours, and that's when everyone is asleep in the UK!(well not everyone!

Are there any changes of any sort happening to news 24 and national news in the next 3 months
also is there anyway i could get some phots from the news centre, as it looks a lot cooler now with the added red, and i would luv to make some mocks of a new look News 24 coming from the centre itself.
