I can't believe it - I've just seen John Nicholson on BBC News 24! I haven't seen him since Breakfast re-launched last October. I wondered what had happened to him just the other day!

Just after Breakfast launched, I saw him present the Nine O'Clock News on News 24 - but I haven't seen him since then.
Do you think Maxine Mawhinney and John make a good team?
I think the worst team is Jane Hill and Matthew Amroliwala - just because they are both really poor presenters!

Yes, they do make a good team - an Irish team! I like Bill Turnbull though! Matthew Amroliwala are a bad team - Matthew always winces at certain words and Jane bobs up and down! God help them, and get them off our screens!

I like Bill.
I think the most boring team are Chris Lowe and Gwenan Edwards - you can guarantee that Chris will say 'Hello, Good evening'!
Did you see Sian this morning, with Michael Peshardt?

John nickleson has done sunday afternoons a couple of times on n24. Jane hill isnt that bad. She isnt suited with amroliwalla though. Jane used to be very good overnight as she handles the international broadcasts better than most news readers. Clarence mitchell just cant handle it and he always seems bored and half asleep. Heather mcarthy is not doing to badly in place of clarence as at least she seems more interested.

Clarance is one of my favourite presenters!
He was great over new years eve into januaury the first when he done it with Gwennan Edwards and she did seem a bit livlier than usual when shes with Chris Lowe. Hes a great presenter though I do feel hes suited to working overnight as he works best on his own, the same with Susan Osmand she was working at daytime recently and wasnt as good as normal.

Clarence is making a come back! Next weekend he is on on Sunday morning, Monday morning, Tuesday morning and probably Wednesday morning aswell. Susan Osman isn't on next weekend, nor his Heather McCarthy.

I watched Sian Williams this morning, but she wasn't with Michael Peschardt! He's in Australia - she was with Peter Dobbie!

It was strange this morning, the BBC News at 0700 on BBC ONE was from BBC News 24, with Peter and Sian, but after 10 mins, we had regional news with no titles. That was the end of that - did anyone see what Peter and Sian did presumably after UK Today on News 24?

Did anyone watch the news summary at 1245? At the end, they used the summary music, which was followed by the end of the Generic Full with no sound - very strange! Also, a new title was used on North West Today at lunchtime. At the end of the bulletin, they just had the end of the titles with a strange tune behind it. A sort of half the usual end of North West Today

Ah well, thats the end of my waffling!

I wish that Matthew Amroliwala and Jane Hill would be replaced by Chris Eakin and Maxine Mawhinney - I think she is really good. John Nicholson should also do more on News 24 in my opinion.

Sorry - I only briefly glanced at the screen at seven this morning! oops. At least is was Sian, anyway, but I wish BBC bosses would put her back on the weekend news progs.
I watched the 1245 summary, and actually I prefer the New summary music to the Generic Full - but what a dreadful presenter. I'm not keen on Darren Jordan at all. He is always tense, and not relaxed

Which presenters does anyone think should be moved from BBC News 24 to National News, or just perhaps do the weekend programmes, so they can still present News 24?

Matthew Amroliwala presented the weekend bulletins a while ago - he was awful! I lilke Nicholas Witchell at the weekend.

I think Maxine Mawhinney would be good, or Peter Coe. I remeber a few weeks ago, Gavin Esler presented the BBC News at One. He was quite good. Also Clarence Mitchell perhaps? Didn't he presented BBC National News a while ago?
JA

Yes he did! He did once present the morning news summaries, then Fiona Bruce presented the News at One.
I think Lucy Hockings and George Eykyn should be made national presenters.
I'd also like Alex Deakin to be made a national weather presenter.

Alex deakin does appear on bbc two after newsnight if he is presenting news 24 weather at that time.
