Now when was the last time you saw BBC News 24 looking *this* good??

BBC World studio - no web address, no N24 channel DOG - very nice! If only it could stay that way.

Cheers, Asa

What's going on? I've never seen anything like this before!

That's a very nice studio shot. I don't see why you don't like the News 24 DOG -- it's very subtle and nice-looking (as far as they can be).

I don't mind the news 24 dog as it is subtle.

The web address was certainly not. YAK YAK YAK YAK YAK

At least it's gone now HURRAH.

So how about designs for a new BBCi dog to replace the bog standard Sky one.

This is slightly off subject, but has anyone noticed the new screensaver they use, look at Asa'a pic on the left, in the middle. Has anyone got this screensaver of know where to get it?

Sorry to disappoint Bail but I think it's actually Wallpaper you can see there, not a new screensaver. I watched the World News prog on News24 the other day and it was a static image, definitely wallpaper, would still be nice to have it though!

I don't think the World studios bug burner has the dog without the web address. Can't remember for sure, but suspect that's the reason it was DOGless

I watched BBC News 24 last night from 12pm till after 1 and I spotted 2 things in that time-

At half past twelve the World Business Report trailer was shown as Next which isn't right as Correspondent was the correct programme as World Business Report is in that place Monday - Friday only.

Susan Osman was in the BBC News 24 studio from 12.00-12.35 before they went to Correspondent, at 1 as shown in Asa's picture she switched to the World Newsroom- is this normal?

Re: WBR Promo...
All the promo's are put in by presentation schedulers. Maybe they clicked on the wrong days running orders to place the promo. Another reason could be that although when creating a new running order a generic template appears, sometimes people 'drag & drop' articles from one order to another, so that also could be the reason.

Re: Studio Changes
This is normal when a studio change takes place. The swap happens beneath the VT. Techy stuff follows, so if easily baffled close your eyes Smile ...
N24 studio send a clean feed of their output (clock & dogless) to an OS line in the World gallery. World gallery cut up the OS on the vision & sound mixers, together with the clock & dog generated from the World gallery.
When the World gallery are happy, they inform the switching centre to put the World Gallery output into the various paths which feed N24 to the cable, DTT & Satellite. You can see when this happens (if you're watching very carefully!!), because a very slight vertical shift will occur, the picture dropping in frame by anything upto 4 lines.
N24 gallery provide all material to World upto & including the countdown clock, and at 0100 World take over.

The change-over can be quite hectic, and sometimes embarrassing. It has been known for the switching centre to re-route all the sources, but someone forgets to inform World Pres or DNC1 of the change of studios, so at the top of the hour instead of World Pres taking the headlines generated from the World studio, they cut to the freeze of the countdown clock left on the output of N24 studio.

Confused? You will be Smile

i don't see why they don't use the World Studio more (are we still not allowed to call it b a certain one letter one number code?) after all I thought that part of the revamp was to
'Show BBC News 24 was at the heart of BBC news'

now which studio looks at the heart of a newroom?
