Which do you think is better. The BBC News 24 Flags era, or the BBC News 24 Modern.

I Prefer the Modern Set but i like the old music with the Flag Idents.

    What do you think?

                                                   Smile Paul:)

I like the new look better. It all fits in with BBC News. I love the ident at the top of the hour, it follows so well from the headline bed.

However much I like flags Very Happy , I do like the current version better.

BTW do the flags actually stand for anything? I haven't seen those anywhere else, and I can say for darn sure those aren't the official flags of any countries in the world. So did they just make up a bunch of flags just for the station identity?

Although I do like the current countdown, I still prefer the old flags look - it was such an original idea and they just looked nice and colourful. The current beige and brown (or whatever it is!) sometimes seems a drab in comparison.

I think all the flags are made-up, except for the English red cross, and one which looks similiar to the Scottish flag.

They did make up the designs of the flags; of course they were designed by Lambie Nairn! The music was created by Voice and Music of Drury Lane, London.

I know they took a lot of care with the ones that went out on World to make sure they weren't like any other flags from around the world so they didn't offend anyone, or were seen to be biased
