Yeah but can't be that difficult to just zoom in, can it?
It's quite amazing really, Sky News has an entire building for itself, and yet you wouldn't think it would need one, because it only operates one outlet.
Amazing it's done what it's done in 12 years really.
CNN used to have a right dump of an HQ, until they moved into that old gas company HQ, then they made a big thing out of that, featuring it in loads of their 80's and early 90's idents. Some of which I've got.

News 24 doesn't look newsy though, that's one of the main problems with the studio.

One thing I immediately noticed at the beginning of the 11.0 pm joint bullitin, was that Chris Lowe didn't say his usual 'Hello goodevening'!

Must be strange for international viewers to see the domestic news service from the BBC.
I am guessing the news is more internationally focused?
You'll have to forgive me not knowing anything about this move about, I've not seen News 24 for a good week.

Yes I saw the camera swing, I thought it was very profesional if you know what I mean!!
Very 'Live Newsy'

There are a couple of TD's who make the camera move on the opening shot. It's not normally the camera that's being used.

There are also a couple of TD's who suddenly realise they haven't got a camera on the presenter as they start the programme.

There's also a few TD's who need to stay awake on a dull News day and this keeps them smiling! Smile

Depends on the day really. If it's a hectic day, the chances are that you won't see anything snazzy. If it's quiet, they'll add a few elements to keep busy and give you guys something to talk about Smile

BTW, when N24 provide the News for World, it is predominantely World News, provided by World journalists - it's unlikely you will see too much UK News

They used to do that (camera swing) on CNN a lot, specially on worldview. On moneyline they used to move the cameras a lot, specially during the second half of the program. Sometimes they do it on the programs made in London

That's because it's not the evening in most of the world

They don't give any form of time reference, even 'this afternoon' for the same reason

PZG, have you any video from the 1998 era?
I've only one ident and a few trailers.

I've seen pictures of World News 1998, and remember it vaguely, but haven't found any video of it.
