Don't you mean the bed?

Its the BBC NewsHeadline bed , its the bed that the newsreader lies in when they are reading the headlines didnt you know that?

Seriously, i dont know what it stands for but its the music that plays while the headlines are played at the top of the hour

Ok Here's the Latest just after 12.00.

Well I watched the hour and:
1. The Bed was the one that is used over night (and yes it is crap)
2. No Thunderclaps just the news 24 'flash'
3. I swear to God they have slightly modified the generic titles, with the words of counties & cities in the world being added to the backround.
(could anyone back me up on this as I have never seen them in the opening titles before) ('i've seen these titles 100's of times and I don't think I'm imagining it)

Thanks

Next update Soon........

No, you're wrong about the modification thing.

The one on N24 today is the BBC News (overnight opening title) ident, which has county names on the background. The other one is the BBC World News ident, which has WORLD on the background. Also, the World News one has BBC WORLD under the BBC NEWS at the bottom, the one on N24 today doesn't.

They are two different opening titles.

Why will they have new stings when Chris and Anna come on?

Thought so. I know I havn't seen those titles during the day before.

Sorry I did'nt mean new stings when anna & chris come I mean when the new studio is complete.

BTW, the news at 1300 on BBC World only should be coming from N6 (I think).

Intersesting, yes because it's only a 10 min bullitain, maybe thats what they'll do after 7

Will you let me know who presents it, and which idents (open and end) are used?

The Headline bed (or vamp) is the overnight News 24/World one. It is a variation of the BBC World News bed. It never has thunderclaps as it goes out on News 24, which never does. This is becuase the presenters on News 24 don't have time to rehearse the headlines, like they do on BBC World.

Personally, I love both beds!!

Oh, it was back in BBC World studio of N9. That is strange!

okay, I'll keep an eye out for the bulletin at 2 pm BST...there's no news bulletin on at the moment cos World are showing the impact of England's Euro '96 campaign in a special 50 minute edition (which meant only a 10 minute news summary). Of course, I turned it on just as the news finished.

Anywayz, as I was saying, I'll wait for the top of the hour, capture it and post the URL up here.

Yes, the last summary was from N9 with normal presenter, Keshini Navaratnam.

Are u sure it was the real N9 and not just N9 CSO'd behind the pres. As I understood it N9 out of action until 11am tomorrow.

Regarding the evening output, I gather it's coming from TC7.

Incedently does anyone know what happend this morning in the 6-9am slot. Did News24 just ditch Breakfast or did they revert to Breakfast style when they weren't on world?
