But wasn't it the fact that the audience didn't like the informal look, therefore audiences didn't grow? To counteract this, they went corporate with a definitive 'BBC News' style for the channel to be instantly recognised amongst the other BBC News productions and therefore seen as a respected news channel?

Cheers, Asa

Has BBC News 24 suceeded though, I don't think it has, what they need to do is a BBC World without the ads!

A bad thing about the bulletin styles of news on Both BBC World and CNN International, is that the programmes on the half-hour are repeated a lot, so you may see the same programme two or three times a day. Trust me, it gets really boring!

news 24 at weekends repeats programmes in the back half hours. it does get boring if you have seen them but channels such as BBC World have to consider other timezones.

not many people watch these channels long enough to see them repeat (only members of this forum Wink ).
BBC World and CNN have viewers tuned in for an average of 38 mins.  And the repeat of programme patterns on an international channel is to make sure it gets maximum exposure in peak in all the time-zones.

But the reason they are repeated is so the whole world can see them at different times. News24 could be different as it only broadcasts in the UK
