BBC News 24

Interesting that News 24 seem to be using more 'still to come' astons promoting up and coming stuff in the next half an hour. Like we'll be live with our correspondent XXXX XXX. I know Sky do it a lot ... as Cheshirec would say the BBC's just copying them.

Yes, but yesterday they were trailing some of the crappiest reports I've ever seen - that story about the man who built some medical thing out of nuts and bolts from B&Q, or something...

I thought it was a good idea but didn't like the aston colour.

'Still To Come' A neat idea I guess but the caption is so horribly out of touch with the other presentation. Someone please change it back!!

Well, if B&Q nuts and bolts are good enough for doctors to use in corrective surgery, I don't see why they're not good enough for News 24!!!

Well they are copying Sky! Sky go one step further though, and put astons up during reports with 'Next: Live to XXXX'
I only caught a glimpse of the aston - it looked orange IIRC, I didn't think it looked that bad.
It's just an idea to keep people watching really.
And Nicky - what did I tell you? Sky are on top in the ratings war again

Anyway, I'd expect a lot more of this sort of thing, I'm guessing News 24 may try to break from the regular BBC image. The new breaking news astons are an example of this - despite the fact that they are horrible.
But News 24 have been doing 'Still to come' things before... they always have that full screen thing with the 'weather in XX mins....etc...' on it.
That looks rubbish too!
