I'm sure it was 3:10 as thats what time BBC ONE joined 24, although from the timing of the programme it'd seem it started at exactly 3, as at 26/27 mins past it went straight to the weather, 30 to a summary of news, and then Reporters was on.
I thought one possibility could be that they wanted to fit in a special programme so just missed out the news at 3am, so they could bring Talking Movies forward and show Reporters, but surely its a bit drastic to axe the news.

This was defently not scheduled. Are you sure it was defently 3.10 and not later. Even if News24 had a total crash the main fallback posiotion is to play out a recording or the last hour. If they were playing Talking Movies something major must have occured.
