BBC World does that a lot during the weekends. So considering that News 24 is out on World at that time, World/News 24 probably had a 10 minuted shared bulletin, then both channels went their separate ways for the rest of the hour or half hour.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right Ed but normally the BBC News output is usually 00-25 on News 24/World then from 30-00 on News 24 (World does its own thing).
And yes, Talking Movies is normally shown during the mornings but never seen it at 10 mins past the hour before. It usually starts at about 34 mins past.

This was defently not scheduled. Are you sure it was defently 3.10 and not later. Even if News24 had a total crash the main fallback posiotion is to play out a recording or the last hour. If they were playing Talking Movies something major must have occured.http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/shocked.gif

Just been watching as BBC ONE joined 24, and noticed that at 3:10 Talking Movies was on, Is this normal? I'm not usually up this late so I don't know but isn't it meant to be news on the hour and then programmes at half past?

Dateline London always kicks in at 11:10am every Sunday morning for 50 minutes until 12:00pm when normal BBC News resumes again. But if Talking Movies was on at 3:10am then what time did it finish? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/confused.gif

I cannot understand why Talking Movies is on News 24 anyway.

I've never actually watched a full edition of Talking Movies - my favourites are Europe Direct, Euro Brief, Hard Talk and Reporters.
I also sometimes watch Business Today if I have time during the week - as you can see most of the programmes listed above are on at weekends - I get more time at weekends!

I only like Simpson's World and Click Online (although Gate 24 is quite good if you are going on holiday abroad!).

Dateline London and Simpson's World are the only decent feature programmes worth watching on News 24.
Booktalk, a rehash of Sky's The Book Show, has made News 24 a bit more of a 'lifestyle' channel at the weekends.
And they still have the slogan 'The news doesn't stop at the weekends...' Perhaps they should add this trailer to their sports one and have 'The news doesn't stop at the weekends... except on BBC News 24'.
