Strangely, the 1525 update in the North West does have an aston, and Gordon Burns just says 'Good afternoon...'. However, none of the other bulletins, as you said, have the astons.

Quite a small presenting team really. Wales also have a one-presenter format, but there are far more than six readers to choose from.
Reporting Scotland seem to be the only programme to have astons on the main 1830 news.
