Id much rather BBC Three have a purple background of some sort. Either a still of an ident or just a purple gradient but being black makes me think of BBC Four.
The same went for the comedy starting Tuesday at 10 on BBC Two with the BBC Two logo black - it didnt make sense.

I've seen the new ECPs a few times now and, I have to say it - they're absolute crap. They look amateur. The spacing is all wrong. The font looks wrong. Why can the BBC not do things like this well?

It's as if they are throwing their toys out of the pram because people complain about credit squeezes. The 2007 version where the credits moved to a tiny box were well designed but made reading the credits impossible. Slowly as they start to listen to viewers about not squeezing the credits, the designs have got worse.

Interesting that the 2006 version was 14:9 graphics safe, not sure the current one is...
But I guess the difference is that the 2006 version had credits designed to work with it - whereas the new one was a very quick change that was introduced almost overnight, and had to work with the existing programme credit design (centred roller)
