They didn't. The insisted all their credits were centre justified so that they could crop the left and right in order to move the credits over - this is exactly what the BBC are doing.

I swear they shrunk them down slightly... However, I can't find a video on the Ident Gallery, TV Live or YouTube showing them shrink - maybe I was imagining it all that time!

EDIT: Oh Phil, thanks for finding that and proving to me that I'm not going mad!

Yep they did, you're not imagining it.

Fair one, although I don't remember this particular style. Having said that, ITV1 had gone to putting credits along the bottom on primetime shows to allow large ECPs - but this wasn't squeezing credits either as they were the same with or without ECP.

Could be easily improved by pasting the endboard animation as the background and if 4:3 safe areas are being ignored might as well centre the whole thing, move the box to the top with Tomorrow or whatever underneath, programme 1 + time, line break, prog 2...

About 5 minutes?

Nice layout but its constructed badly. Dislike the box and the background looks ugly. But I do like that they have gone back to having it at the side. BBC TWO's looks much better than BBC One's effort.

That must look pretty nasty in 4:3

Although 4:3 safe is arguably being phased out, still a horrible design though.

Having watched Family Guy last night on BBC Three, half of it is just cut off.

A tweet from Andrew Davies, BBC Head of Media Planning, suggests the new ECP style is called the 'swish'.
