Since the war on terrorism began, and all the threats from Bin Laden and the Al Queda Network, i have been thinking what would happen to all BBC Television Services if Television Centre was bombed or badly damaged. The reigons would possibly do something but what about BBC World, and News 24.

I honestly don't know what would happen.

It will be the same in (i think it's) 2008 when BBC News is moved to another building. Or is that me? Is BBC News moving in the future?

Well as they did in during the bomb in March, they'd move News 24, World etc out into Westminster Studios, probably!

Is there footage of this presentation? I mean presenting from Westminster.

I tried looking on BBC News 24's page on TV Home earlier but for all clips there was just ONE! That being an interview done from the World Newsroom.

The plan at the moment is that BBC News all move to Broadcasting House around 2007/8 this includes radio, tv, world service and AFAIK News Online.
As to the other part of the topic there are of course plans in place for all eventualities but as you would expect these are not public knowledge.

well if they was going to move to Broadcasting House in either 2007/08 then why did the BBC spend millions of pounds on a BBC News, and Weather centre.

Exactly what occured to me - I would have thought their current base is far more suited to Broadcasting House for BBC NEWS? Why is this move necessary, and what would go in the News Centre?

The official reason for moving back is that big name interviewees don't want to travel to West London for interviews and things and the BBC thinks that my merging all BBC News services into a news hub in central London they will be better served - BBC World Service is also to move there I think then as Bush House lease is up.

Journalists I don't think ever liked moving to West London as there really is nothing around TV Centre and it's not the safest area late at night - when many journalists are around...

Don't know what they'll do with the News Centre at TVC - I suspect some news service will be retained but I suppose it might make a good event studio with the huge open space and glass windows...

If they had to do something with Broadcasting house and BBC News, they should make it into Backup Studios incase of a power failure, fire, or some sort of emergency at Television Centre.

BBC News is part of BBC Television Centre in west London. The back-up studio is in Westminster.
